I grew up in the vast open spaces of the South Island in New Zealand and always had a desire to explore the globe. A main source of my inspiration stems from the places that I visit, mesmerising landscapes and characters that I meet. After graduating, I spent 8 years traveling the globe and gaining experience in graphic design and production in Melbourne. I am now based in Wellington and have spent the last 3 years immersed within the design and advertising industry, meanwhile discovering all that this lively capital city has on offer.
Currently I am an in-house Graphic Designer at Fly Buys. I work across a medley of projects predominately within the digital space, along with producing various print ready collateral. I create artwork for a number of our partners, which ensures I am continuously challenged and stimulated in finding new and visually compelling design outcomes.
Prior to working for Fly Buys I helped set up a digital agency called Plankton. Plankton specialise in producing video content, graphic design (digital + print), websites and SEO. This role was varied and exciting and I had full exposure to all facets of the business. I created the visual brand identity for Plankton and my key responsibilities included graphic design for our varied client base, managing the production of artwork, creating and managing all content for our social media platforms, copy writing, obtaining and presenting quotations, project management, art direction, presentation of creative concepts to clients, presentation of marketing proposals to potential and existing clients and maintaining relationships with both clients and suppliers.
Having extensive creative experience including within production, account management, creative direction and graphic design has given me an invaluable understanding of the creative process in it’s entirety. As a designer having the ability to be able to effectively articulate design solutions is paramount in ensuring memorable design outcomes are achieved.
